Without it I’m not sure I would have attended a university. I used my football talents to help me get into college so I could continue my education. Sports always motivated me to do well in the classroom. I’m taking this opportunity to pursue my dream of playing professionally and graduating this fall.

LETTER FROMMIKE HILL Thank you for your tremendous support during our historic 2022-23 season. We enjoyed an incredible year with a record eight conference titles and had the top overall athletics program in Conference USA for the third straight year. In the classroom, we led CUSA with 117 Commissioner’s Academic Medals (representing a 3.75 or higher GPA). In addition, 2022-23 was the fifth straight year that the Athletic Foundation has reported an increase in annual fund dollars, and our 49er Club membership grew to a record 2,600+ supporters. Our dominant track and field and cross country programs nearly swept all six league titles by winning the men’s and women’s cross country championships, the men’s and women’s indoor track championships and the men’s outdoor track championship – five titles in all! And Nick Scudder won the individual championship at the NCAA Cross Country Southeast Regionals. Softball won its first-ever CUSA regular season title and earned its first NCAA Tournament bid in program history, while baseball won the CUSA Tournament title to claim its second NCAA bid in the past three years. Softball and baseball both advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals, landing Charlotte aside the likes of Texas, Alabama, Florida, Stanford and LSU as programs that reached the finals in both sports. Men’s golf won the CUSA Championship and went to the NCAA Regionals for the third straight year while women’s tennis earned its highest ranking in program history and its first-ever bid to the NCAA Tournament. Men’s basketball won its first postseason tournament title in school history, capturing the CBI Championship en route to a 22-win season, the most victories since 2001. Football stand-out Grant DuBose was selected in the NFL Draft, and our first-ever softball All-American, Bailey Vannoy, was invited to the US National team tryouts. Baseball’s Cam Fisher won multiple All-America awards, and Scudder and Riley Felts earned All-America honors at the NCAA Track and Field Championships. In the last five years, we’ve won 21 CUSA titles in 10 different sports. We’ve had 12 programs represented in NCAA Championships for a total of 21 NCAA appearances and one bowl bid over that time. What a great way to finish our run in Conference USA. Now we head to the American Athletic Conference – with new challenges, new rivalries and new excitement! As we continue our rapid ascent in the midst of this transformational era of Niners athletics – we need your support more than ever. The move to The American and our continued push to make the EverGreen Facilities Master Vision a reality requires an unwavering commitment from us all to help us realize our full potential as Charlotte 49ers. Thank you for all you do for our program, especially for our amazing studentathletes who represent us so beautifully. Now, it’s all eyes on The American. LETTER FROM SCOTTKULL Hello, Niner Nation! My name is Scott Kull and I am the Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs and the Athletic Foundation. I am joining you fromTCU andmost recently the University of Utahwhere I was part of external units that completed significant athletics facilities projects including a $170M football stadium renovation at TCU and an $85M football stadiumexpansion at Utah. I was also a part of the transition team to the Big 12 at TCU and continued the efforts to help with Utah’s growth in the Pac 12. I’mexcited to come to Charlotte and work with all of you to help us reach greater heights. To raise our program and better serve our 518 student-athletes as we move into The American Athletic Conference, we need substantial upgrades to our facilities as outlined in our EverGreen Athletics Facilities Master Vision. We need to be able to recruit and retain highly accomplished student-athletes – and that requires a stronger infrastructure: from annual giving and endowments, to improved facilities, to greater amenities, including travel, lodging, nutrition, counseling as well as enhancements to our sports performance, sports psychology, sports medicine and academic services. Thanks to you we have achieved record giving to the 49er Club with our largest number of donors. We have a solid foundation to build upon. The history and tradition of success across the board is strong and the fan base is ready. It’s what attracted me to be a Niner. Now we need to do more. Simple as that. We need more resources. We need more donors. We need more corporate support. We need more community involvement. We need a larger, stronger foundation. How can you help? Please reach out to me personally for a phone conversation or an in-person meeting. My email address is skull@charlotte.edu and my cell is 801-201-5724. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you! In my first days on board, I have seen the passion and energy of Niner Nation. Now is the time for action, and I am ready to get started with you. Let’s make our mark in The American, together. 4 2 0 2 3 - 2 4 M E M B E R S H I P G U I D E SCOTT KULL Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs

FSL’s in both the Gold Tier and Green Tier are available for ownership with a one-time investment. Gold FSL’s cost $2,500 per license and Green Tier FSL’s cost $1,000 per license. Both tiers provide the owner lifetime rights to purchase tickets and the ability to transfer ownership of the FSL’s. Green Tier FSL owners can guarantee their seat location bymaking an annual contribution at the Forty-Niner Level (currently $450). Giving level requirements are subject to change. Because of athletics, I developed lifelong relationships with many teammates, coaching staff, support staff and our fans which I know has positively contributed to the person I am today. I developed a love for and pride in the University which I represented and fromwhich I earned a respected degree. These are some of the reasons why I am excited to be a part of the Niner Varsity Club, our athletic alumni board which seeks to engage, re-engage and encourage former student-athletes to support current student-athletes, the Athletic Department and the University. I understand the importance of giving back to our student-athletes whether it be financially, in the form of mentorship or being present/cheering from the stands because I can tell you from personal experience that a student-athlete’s performance, on and off the field/court, is only enhanced when they feel the support of a community. CHARLITA JOSEPH PRESIDENT OF THE NINER VARSITY CLUB Charlotte has become everything for me. From my coaches and teammates to all of my professors who work to help me each and every day, this place is my home and through both the good times and the bad I’m really happy that I get to be a 49er every single day.
